Our Principal Dentist, is a much-loved and well-respected dental professional in the Brisbane Northside community. Dr Victor Shumilin has provided quality patient dental care at Toombul Shopping Centre since 1986.

After graduating from Dentistry at the University of Queensland in 1983, Dr Shumilin worked in Ipswich Hospital. In addition, he also provided private emergency dental services in both Ipswich and Rochedale, until later taking a position with another well established and respected Dentist in Toombul, Dr Alan Webster. Dr Shumilin and Dr Webster formed a close partnership and friendship for over 30 years. Their names became synonymous with quality dental treatment in Brisbane and superior patient care. Following his retirement, Dr Webster handed over the reins to both Dr Shumilin and Dr Culverhouse, entrusting his colleagues with the care of his valued patients. Dr Webster is still considered a huge part of the Ivy Dental story and still makes time to visit the team and chat with his previous patients.

Having joined the state-of-the-art team at Ivy Dental, Dr Shumilin has renewed enthusiasm for his craft. Furthermore, he still maintains the strong old-fashioned family dental values he is renowned for. With a special interest in Cosmetic Dentistry, treatment of Temporomandibular Disorder TMD and Sleep Dentistry, Dr Shumilin has been an invaluable mentor for younger graduates. In addition, Dr Victor Shumilin continues to broaden his own scope of practice through further training.

Outside of Dentistry, Dr Shumilin enjoys spending time boating, fishing and playing cricket.
