Policy document

Veneer warranty policy

This document outlines the terms of our porcelain veneer warranty. It applies to porcelain veneers placed at any Ivy Dental clinic.

Last updated: February 2026

15 yearsConditional warranty period

Ivy Dental offers a 15-year warranty on porcelain veneers. Full policy details including coverage, conditions, exclusions, claims process, and transfer between locations.

1. What's covered

Our warranty policy covers porcelain veneers against manufacturing defects and material failure for the duration of the warranty period, provided all conditions are met.

Specifically, this warranty covers:

Manufacturing defects in the porcelain material
Material failure under normal use (fracture, chipping, or cracking not caused by trauma or habits)
Debonding not caused by trauma, habits, or external dental work

2. Warranty period

The warranty period is 15 years from the date of final veneer bonding. The warranty applies individually to each veneer. If one veneer in a set is replaced under warranty, the replacement veneer carries a new 15-year warranty from its bonding date.

3. Conditions

To maintain your warranty, you must:

Attend six-monthly review appointments at an Ivy Dental clinic for the duration of the warranty. These allow us to monitor your veneers, check your bite, and catch issues early.
Follow the aftercare instructions provided at the time of your veneer placement.
Notify Ivy Dental within 14 days of becoming aware of any issue with your veneers.

If you miss two or more consecutive review appointments without rescheduling, the warranty lapses. It can be reinstated by attending a review appointment, at which point the treating dentist will assess whether the veneers are in a condition that allows warranty reinstatement.

4. What's not covered

This warranty does not cover damage or failure caused by:

Teeth grinding (bruxism) or jaw clenching. If you grind your teeth, we will discuss a night guard as part of your treatment plan. Using a night guard does not void the warranty; failing to use one when recommended may.
Nail biting, pen chewing, or chewing hard objects (ice, bones, hard lollies, bottle caps).
Physical trauma (falls, sports injuries, accidents).
Neglect of oral hygiene that causes decay or gum disease affecting the underlying tooth structure.
Dental work performed outside Ivy Dental that affects the veneers or the teeth they are bonded to.
Normal wear consistent with the age of the veneers.
Cosmetic preferences (shade changes, minor irregularities visible only at magnification).

5. How to make a claim

If you believe your veneer has failed or been damaged in a way that may be covered by this warranty:

Step 1: Contact us

Call (07) 3266 7120 or email smile@ivydental.com.au. Let us know which veneer is affected and what happened. We aim to see warranty patients within 5 business days of contact.

Step 2: Clinical assessment

Your treating dentist (or another Ivy dentist if unavailable) will examine the veneer and determine whether the issue falls within the warranty scope. This assessment is provided at no charge.

Step 3: Resolution

If the claim is approved, we will repair or replace the affected veneer at no cost to you. The decision between repair and replacement is made clinically based on the nature of the failure.

6. If a veneer fails under warranty

If a veneer is determined to have failed due to a manufacturing defect or material failure (and all conditions have been met), Ivy Dental will:

Replace the veneer with a new porcelain veneer of equivalent quality, at no cost.
Where replacement is not clinically appropriate, provide alternative restorative treatment at no cost, or a credit toward future treatment at Ivy Dental.

The replacement veneer carries a new 15-year warranty from its bonding date.

7. Transfer between locations

This warranty is valid at any Ivy Dental clinic. If you move and begin attending a different Ivy location for your reviews, the warranty transfers automatically. Your treatment records are shared across all Ivy clinics.

The warranty does not transfer to dental practices outside the Ivy Dental network.

8. Changes to this policy

Ivy Dental may update this warranty policy from time to time. Any changes will apply to veneers placed after the change date. Veneers placed before a policy change remain covered under the terms that were in effect at the time of their placement.

Aftercare

Keeping your restorations healthy

Veneers are durable, but they're not indestructible. How long they last depends partly on how you care for them. These habits help protect your investment.

Attend your scheduled review appointments. These catch issues early.
Wear a night guard if you grind your teeth. Grinding is the most common cause of veneer damage.
Avoid using your teeth as tools. Opening packaging, biting nails, or chewing ice puts unnecessary stress on porcelain.
Maintain good oral hygiene. Decay at the margins of a veneer can compromise the bond.
Tell us about any changes. Sensitivity, roughness, or a chip, no matter how minor, is worth mentioning at your next visit.
