How billing works

Assessment, quote, agreement, then payment.

A written plan gives you a practical basis for deciding how and when to proceed with non-urgent treatment.
  1. 01

Assessment comes before the final quote.

Indicative prices help with planning. Your dentist must assess the clinical situation before confirming the treatment items and final written cost.
  2. 02

    Review the itemised treatment plan.

The plan sets out the recommended care, sequence, and costs. Ask questions and take the time you need before agreeing to non-urgent treatment.
  3. 03

    Apply eligible health fund benefits.

All major health funds can be processed through HICAPS where the policy and treatment item apply. You pay any applicable gap.
  4. 04

    Arrange payment before treatment begins.

Payment is due on the day of treatment unless an approved payment arrangement has been made in advance.

Payment plans

A payment plan may be one option.

Afterpay may be available to approved applicants. Approval, limits, fees, and repayment terms are determined by the provider. Review the provider terms and consider whether the arrangement is suitable for you.
Ask before treatment begins.

Payment plan availability is not guaranteed and Ivy Dental does not provide financial advice. If cost is a concern, ask the dentist to explain clinical priorities and whether appropriate treatment can be sequenced.

Health funds and CDBS

Benefits depend on the policy and program rules.

All major Australian health funds can be processed through HICAPS where the policy and treatment item apply. CDBS is a separate Medicare benefit for eligible children.

Private health funds

Location-specific preferred-provider arrangements.

Everton Park is an HCF Preferred Provider. Nundah is a Medibank Preferred Provider. Rebates and gaps depend on the member policy and treatment items.

Child Dental Benefits Schedule

Up to $1,158 over two consecutive calendar years.

CDBS eligibility is not automatic. For eligible children, CDBS-covered items are bulk billed at $0 out of pocket at Ivy Dental while the planned items are covered by the remaining Medicare balance. Ivy Dental can check CDBS eligibility and remaining balance before treatment. Families can also check through a Medicare online account linked to myGov or call the Medicare program line on 132 011.

Common questions

Pricing and payment FAQ.

Exact quotes, from prices, payment plans, health fund claims, and CDBS.
Can I get an exact quote before my appointment?
We can explain indicative starting prices, but an exact quote requires clinical assessment. The assessment determines the appropriate treatment items, materials, complexity, and final written cost.
What if the full treatment cost is difficult for me right now?
Tell the team before treatment begins. The dentist may be able to explain clinical priorities and whether appropriate care can be sequenced. Payment plans may be available to approved applicants, subject to provider eligibility and terms. This is general information, not financial advice.
Do you offer payment plans?
Afterpay may be available to approved applicants. Availability, limits, fees, and repayment terms are determined by the provider. Ask the team before treatment begins and review the provider terms carefully.
Why are prices listed as from amounts?
The starting price reflects a simpler treatment scenario. Complexity, materials, imaging, the number of teeth, and the number of appointments can change the final cost. Clinical assessment determines the final written quote.
How do health fund claims work?
All major Australian health funds can be processed through HICAPS where the policy and treatment item apply. Everton Park is an HCF Preferred Provider. Nundah is a Medibank Preferred Provider. Your fund determines the benefit and any applicable gap.
Can I claim both a private health fund and CDBS?
CDBS is a Medicare benefit for eligible children aged 0 to 17, and eligibility is not automatic. It operates separately from private health funds. The same service item cannot be claimed twice. Ask the team to check the applicable benefit before treatment.
