Check-up, clean, and bitewing X-rays when clinically indicated.
Cost guide
Know what the check-up price covers.
A routine appointment should separate examination, preventive care, clinically indicated imaging, and any additional treatment. This guide shows the published starting prices and the questions that prevent billing surprises.
For a suitable routine recall appointment after prior care at Ivy.
Your policy and remaining benefit determine the actual gap.
Additional imaging, periodontal treatment, restorations, fluoride, or other care is not assumed. Findings and costs should be discussed before optional or non-urgent work proceeds.
Published starting prices
Routine care and problem-focused care are different appointments.
A comprehensive visit looks broadly at oral health. A focused examination investigates a specific concern. Imaging and treatment depend on what the clinician needs to diagnose safely.
The starting price is not a promise that every person needs the same X-rays or cleaning.
Comprehensive check-up, clean, and bitewings when indicated
For a standard adult appointment. The examination determines the imaging and preventive care required.
Recall check-up and clean
For an existing patient when a routine recall appointment is clinically appropriate.
Focused examination
A limited assessment of a specific symptom or problem. Treatment and imaging are separate.
Deep cleaning
For selected gum disease cases after periodontal assessment, not a routine scale and clean.
Standard appointment scope
Included, indicated, and separate are not the same.
Included in the published figure
- Examination of teeth, gums, bite, and oral soft tissues
- A professional scale and clean within the standard appointment scope
- Bitewing X-rays when clinically indicated
- Discussion of findings, priorities, alternatives, and proposed next steps
- A written or explained treatment plan when further care is recommended
May be quoted separately
- OPG, CBCT, or additional focused X-rays when needed
- Periodontal charting or deep cleaning for gum disease
- Fluoride or fissure sealants when indicated
- Fillings, extractions, emergency treatment, or other procedures
- Specialist referral or external imaging where required
Imaging prices
X-rays should answer a clinical question.
Imaging frequency is individual. Age, symptoms, decay risk, gum and bone health, previous images, pregnancy status, and the treatment being considered all matter.
Focused film
From $40
A periapical or bitewing image used for selected teeth, roots, bone, or decay assessment.
Panoramic
From $100
An OPG provides a broad two-dimensional view for selected wisdom tooth, development, jaw, or treatment questions.
Three-dimensional
From $150
A CBCT may be used for implant planning, complex anatomy, or other questions where three-dimensional detail is justified.
No image
When not indicated
Imaging is not automatic at every visit. Existing recent images and current risk can affect the decision.
Health funds and CDBS
The advertised fee and your gap are different numbers.
Private health funds
All major Australian health funds accepted. Eligible claims can be processed through HICAPS, but the policy controls the benefit and gap.
Preferred providers
Everton Park is an HCF Preferred Provider. Nundah is a Medibank Preferred Provider. Network status does not guarantee a zero gap.
CDBS
Eligibility is not automatic. Eligible children can access up to $1,158 over two calendar years, with covered planned items bulk billed at $0 out of pocket while sufficient benefit remains.
Before treatment starts
Four billing questions worth asking.
- 01
What is included in today's appointment?
Confirm examination, cleaning, clinically indicated bitewings, and whether any additional imaging is proposed.
- 02
Is this preventive care or treatment of a diagnosed problem?
Deep cleaning, restorations, and emergency procedures are separate from a standard routine visit.
- 03
What will my health fund pay today?
HICAPS can confirm the claim, but annual limits and policy rules determine the gap.
- 04
Can non-urgent treatment be staged?
Ask which findings are urgent, which can be monitored, and how cost changes if treatment is staged.
