- Long-term maintenance is simpler

Before committing to either path, ask what would happen if you did nothing, what would change with alignment alone, and how much enamel would need to be removed if veneers were used. Ask whether whitening or bonding could solve part of the concern before porcelain is considered.
It also helps to ask how the bite will be checked. Crooked front teeth are sometimes a visible sign of crowding, grinding, or bite imbalance. If those factors are ignored, the cosmetic result may be harder to maintain. A good plan should explain why the chosen option suits your teeth and how the final appearance will be maintained.

Limits of each option
Aligners cannot change tooth shape or colour. If the teeth are straight but you still dislike how they look, alignment alone will not address that.
Veneers cannot fix severe crowding. If teeth are significantly overlapping or rotated, the amount of preparation needed to create the illusion of alignment through veneers alone may be excessive and clinically inadvisable.
Neither option addresses bite problems on its own. If the underlying issue is a significant overbite, underbite, or crossbite, the treatment plan may need to involve orthodontic correction regardless of whether veneers are part of the final result.
